MEET OUR 2020
PRESIDENT - WES SUMRALLWes moved to the mountains of Colorado in January of 2010 and joined Park County Search and Rescue in April 2017. He brings with him a mixture of Law Enforcement, Military and Emergency Medical experience which he utilizes as a Team Member, Technical Rescue Team Member, Supervisor, President of the Board of Directors and Management Information Systems Director.
VICE PRESIDENT - ERIC KRAUSEEric joined the team in early 2018 and brings a mix of personal and professional experience in the outdoors, including: whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, backcountry skiing, whitewater rafting, caving, backpacking, canyoneering, and mountain biking. These experiences, along with over 9 years working in the first response field, have helped to develop the skills necessary to be a contributing team member.
SECRETARY - ANDREW GIAMBERARDINOAndrew splits his time between Denver and Fairplay, Colorado and has been volunteering with Park County Search and Rescue since 2018. Prior to this he served as president and coach of the University of Denver Whitewater Kayaking Club and as VP of the Alpine Club where he honed his technical skills as a mountaineer-- excelling in ice climbing, tele skiing, mountain biking, and logistical management in the backcountry. These skills, coupled with his passion for the outdoors and giving back to his community, make Andrew well suited for his role as a PCSAR Team Member, Technical Team Member, and Secretary of the Board of Directors.
TREASURER - GWEN PIZARROGwen joined Park County Search and Rescue in April of 2017. She is a member of the Technical Rescue Team as well as serving as the Treasurer for the Board of Directors. She currently resides in Fairplay, Colorado.
TRAINING DIRECTOR - SETH DANNERSeth is a Colorado Native and committed to ensuring all users of Colorado's public lands are able to recreate safely and responsibly. Seth is an Eagle Scout and has developed the skills needed for SAR through years of rock climbing along with the front range, hunting throughout central CO, and snowboarding in the winter. Seth joined PCSAR in 2016 and has since served as a tech team member, vice president, and president of the board.
FIELD DIRECTOR - KATHY SWANCARA-STUERKEKathy joined Park County Search and Rescue in 1993 and is currently the longest serving member on the team. She is a member of the Technical Rescue Team as well as the Field Director for the Board of Directors. She currently resides in Bailey, Colorado.
