Park County Search and Rescue

PCSAR is a non-profit IRC 501(c)(3) charitable organization funded in a large part by the generous contributions from our community. PCSAR is an all-volunteer team with no paid employees. Here are some ways you can help benefit PCSAR and/or the search and rescue volunteers of Colorado:

Donate to the Team

While we fall under the control of the Park County Sheriff, we operate on an extremely small budget. The team is funded almost exclusively by donations, fund raisers, and grants. PCSAR has no paid employees. The funds we receive as donations are used to acquire and maintain our rescue/command center vehicles, snowmobiles, ATVs, repair and replace team gear (such as litters, ropes, climbing hardware, medical equipment, and radios) and operational expenses.

Park County Search and Rescue, Inc. (PCSAR) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization funded in a large part by the generous contributions from our community. Join the Team

Our membership consists of persons trained in technical rope rescue techniques, emergency medical skills, as well as technical search and rescue skills.
PCSAR members give freely of their own time and money in order to acquire the life-saving skills and knowledge required to provide safe and successful search and rescue operations.

There are many different roles and levels of support - you don't have to be a world-class climber to provide an indispensable service to the search and rescue community. New members are accepted at any time throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a member of PCSAR you will need to complete a resume, waiver, and submit information for a background check. The board of directors will review your resume and if your background check clears with the Park County Sheriff you will be invited to join our team as a prospective member. Prospective members will complete a checklist of skills, with the support of a mentor, taking approximately three months. Upon completion of the prospective member checklist you will rank up to a full team member ready to respond to mission callouts.

Anyone is welcome at in-building evening training's.
